German scrap remains stable amid low demand, exports
German scrap prices have remained stable in mid-May due to low demand from domestic steel mills and reduced exports, say local market participants.
“The market is quiet and trade activity is low,” a scrap collector in Bavaria tells Kallanish. “At the same time, there are some small price decreases occurring in Austria, depending on the grade.”
