German scrap prices decrease slightly despite good demand
German scrap prices have decreased slightly in the middle of January after the traditional winter holiday break, according to German scrap market participants. Most sources say that the market has started to recover, following initial uncertainty regarding price levels.
Prices in southern Germany are unchanged, while in some other parts of the country they decreased by €5-15/tonne ($6-17/t) at the beginning of this month, a Bavarian buyer tells Kallanish.
