German scrap market expects unstable prices before Christmas
German scrap prices increased in November due to new purchases from Turkey, according to German scrap market participants. While some sources expect the market will be stable in December before the Christmas holidays and annual maintenance at mills, others foresee future price increases due to restocking.
Prices in southern, northern and eastern Germany have increased by €30-40/tonne ($34-45/t) this month, a German market participant tells Kallanish.
