German scrap market expects new hikes in March
German scrap prices have increased in February amid higher demand and exports, say local market participants. They expect this trend to continue next month amid restocking, including by Turkish mills in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake.
“There are new orders and demand from steel plants in Europe,” one scrap merchant tells Kallanish. “Demand for old scrap is again more than the supply.”
