German machinery and plant builders lower 2022 forecast
Germany’s mechanical engineering association, VDMA, has corrected its previous annual forecast for production growth this year. From the originally expected growth of 7%, it recently lowered the figure to 4%.
However, that forecast was made before the Russian attack on Ukraine. Even before the war, the predominant problem for companies in the sector was disrupted supply chains, which has now been badly aggravated.
