German fabricators lower forecast for 2022
After a relatively good first quarter for German steel and metals fabricators, their association WSM states that the industry is now “back in reverse” since the outbreak of the Ukraine war.
In February, the upswing seen in 2021 after the first year of Covid-19 prompted WSM to anticipate production growth of 7% in 2022 (see Kallanish 8 February). This figure has now been lowered to 5%, and it may not be the last time that the forecast is adjusted.
