Germany’s April steel output dips sequentially despite shortages

Crude steel production at German mills in April totalled 3.36 million tonnes, according to the latest figures provided by steel federation WV Stahl. Pig iron production came to 2.1mt. In defiance of the prevailing steel shortage on the market, the volumes are below those achieved in March, which were 3.78m and 2.32mt, respectively, Kallanish notes.
