The Zhouning Eco-Environmental Bureau in Ningde, Fujian Province says it intends to approve the environmental impact assessment of Fujian Juwei Pipe Company’s stainless steel deep processing project, indicating construction is about to begin, Kallanish notes.

The company plans CNY 31 million ($4.75m) of investment in the project, of which CNY 2m will be used for environmental protection. The project, located at Lidun Industrial Park, is expected to have 50,000 tonnes/year of pipemaking round billet capacity, and 15,000 t/y of seamless pipe capacity.

According to Ningde’s plan to double revenue in the stainless steel industry by 2025, Lidun Industrial Park is one of the stainless steel deep processing bases to be developed (see Kallanish passim).
