Ha Tinh targets 7 million tonnes/year in 2019
Vietnam’s Ha Tinh Steel aims to have 7 million tonnes/year of hot metal capacity running in 2019. It blew in its first 3.5m t/y blast furnace a month ago, according to 25% owner China Steel Corporation (CSC). The plant has had a troubled start but, if ramping up its capacity goes smoothly, it will be the country’s sole supplier of slab and hot rolled coil, Kallanish notes.
