FMG buys into Atlas, frustrating Mineral Resources
FMG has agreed to buy 15% of struggling miner Atlas Iron, it tells Kallanish. The move is expected to throw a spanner in the works of a deal for Mineral Resources to buy Atlas.
“Fortescue does not intend to support the proposed Scheme of Arrangement between Atlas Iron and Mineral Resources... on its current terms, but reserves the right to do so,” the miner says in its press release. Mineral Resources and Atlas Iron have yet to comment…
