Five Chinese steel companies predict first-half losses
Five Chinese listed steel companies estimate they suffered losses in the first half of the year, Kallanish notes.
Jiugang Hongxing predicts its net loss was CNY 43.61 million ($6.45m), due to compressed profit margins under pressure from fuel and alloy prices. In H1 2021, the firm posted a CNY 1.95 billion profit.
Bayi Steel saw a loss of CNY 144m during the same period, compared to semi-annual profit of CNY 1.36 billion registered a year ago.
