Ferrexpo cuts iron ore output in first quarter
Ukraine-based Swiss head-quartered iron ore pellet producer Ferrexpo has reduced its first quarter 2019 output from captive ore by -8.2% quarter-on-quarter and -1.2% year-on-year to 2.54 million tonnes, the company says.
Out of this, 107,500 tonnes were of 62% Fe content, -45.7% down on Q418 and -28.3% down on-year, Kallanish notes. Output of 65% Fe pellets totalled 2.43mt in Q1, -5.3% down on-quarter and 0.4% up on-year.
