Feralpi launches billet caster revamped by Primetals
A six-strand billet caster revamped by Primetals Technologies has been started up in the Lonato del Garda works of Italian rebar maker Feralpi, the technology supplier tells Kallanish.
The aim of the project is to increase production capacity from 1.1 million tonnes/year to 1.2m t/y of billet. The company will also be able to produce billets with a larger square cross section of 150x150mm (currently 140x140mm). Modifications for a possible increase to 160x160mm …
