Feralpi Germany completes rolling mill upgrade
German rebar mill Elbe-Stahlwerke Feralpi carried out some plant maintenance during a shutdown period from mid-December to mid-January. This included the completion of an upgrade of its rolling mill.
“The compact sizing block (CSB) went in operation in January. It was the second part of our upgrading of the wire finishing line. We now achieve final rolling speeds of 129 metres/second,” plant director Frank Schäfer tells Kallanish.
