Feralpi boosts billet output
Italian rebar maker Feralpi Siderurgica is revamping the six-strand billet caster at its Lonato del Garda works in Brescia Province. The revamping will be implemented by Primetals, Kallanish learns from the technology supplier.
The aim of the project is to increase production capacity from 1.1 million tonnes/year to 1.2m t/y of billet and to produce billet with a larger square cross section of 150mm. There will also be a provision to produce 160mm square billet.…
