Fangchenggang reclaims land for new furnace project
China’s Wugang Fangchenggang steelworks plans to reclaim land from the sea to build a rotary hearth furnace, according to local media. While the project still needs its environment approvals, Wugang’s central government ownership and the importance of the steelworks to the local economy mean the project is likely to move forward, Kallanish notes.
