Higher prices, construction recovery lift Ezz Steel earnings
Ezz Steel saw significant earnings growth with the help of higher steel prices in the second quarter. The outlook for domestic construction steel consumption is improving, the firm observes.
Its consolidated revenue in the first half of the year increased 70% on-year to EGP 30.4 billion ($1.9 billion). Long products sales comprised 53%, whereas flat sales constituted 45%, according to the Egyptian steelmaker’s latest earnings report seen by Kallanish.
