Evraz ZSMK revamps EAF
Evraz’s ZSMK steelworks has completed the RUB 300 million ($5.2m) revamp of its electric arc furnace to increase productivity and reduce production costs.
The EAF has a modern system for accelerating the melting process, which will result in increased production by 100,000 tonnes/year, as well a reduction in electricity consumption and requirement of electrodes, Evraz tells Kallanish.
