Evraz, Steel Asia sign 50,000 t/y billet contract
Steel Asia in the Philippines and Russia’s Evraz have signed a long term agreement which will see the Russian producer ship 50,000 tonnes of billet to Steel Asia’s rolling mills in Davao City and Bulacan, Philippine media reports. Steel Asia is still reliant on billet imports for most of its production and it is wary of becoming too reliant on China, Kallanish notes.
