Evraz ramps up steel production following caster upgrade
Russian miner and steelmaker Evraz has increased production following the overhaul of the continuous casting machine in converter shop No.2 at its ZSMK plant, the company says.
As a result, the caster will be able to increase output by 165,000 tonnes/year, Kallanish notes.
"The steel casting speed was previously below capability and we tried to work at higher speeds in order to increase the productivity of the machine by 1,000 tonnes/day,” Evraz says.…
