Evraz NTMK doubles round billet capacity
Evraz NTMK has commissioned a new round billet caster, thereby doubling its production capacity of the semi-finished product used in seamless pipemaking.
The new unit has a 120,000 tonnes/year capacity of 70-250mm round billet. A new shot blasting line, rough-grinding machine and transport system have also been installed. Evraz first announced this investment, worth RUB 160 million ($2.7m), last September (see Kallanish 8 September 2016).
