Evraz eyes iron self-sufficiency with new project
Russian steelmaker Evraz has launched an investment project for the development of its Sheregesh iron ore mine.
It currently produces up to 4.8 million tonnes/year of iron ore, Kallanish notes. The goal of the new project is to replenish retired ore reserves and maintain existing production volumes until at least 2032. Investment in the project will amount to RUB 4.5 billion ($64 million).
