Europe boosts Metalloinvest steel sales, iron ore declines
Metalloinvest saw iron ore pellet sales slump -12.1% on-quarter in the first quarter to 3.09 million tonnes, while iron ore concentrate/sinter deliveries fell -22.8% to 1.88mt. The decline was due mainly to the increased share of higher-value added products in the firm’s sales, as well as higher inventories, Kallanish learns from the Russian steelmaker.
