Essar, USW agree to extend contract talks
The United Steelworkers labour union and Essar Steel Algoma have opted to extend their contract negotiations as the company works through its bankruptcy restructuring, Kallanish learns from a company release.
The USW will continue to work at Essar’s Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, facility under the terms of their previous contract, which expired 31 March.
