ESI lowers rebar price, Turkey books costlier scrap
Abu Dhabi-based Emirates Steel (ESI) has finally announced its February-delivery rebar price for the domestic market, at AED 1,690/tonne ($460/t) ex-works. This is a decrease of $35/t on January, reflecting last month’s crash in scrap prices and subsequent decline in prices paid by Middle Eastern billet importers.
