ESI rebar quote surges, retail market avoids fluctuation
United Arab Emirates' integrated steelmaker Emirates Steel (ESI) has increased its domestic rebar price by a whopping AED 537/tonne ($146) to AED 3,125/t ($850) ex-mill theoretical weight for April rolling.
This price is for 10-40mm diameter domestic rebar (BS4449:2005 grade GR500B). 8mm dia rebar quotes are at the same price as long as the quantity of 8mm does not exceed 5% of the total ordered quantity.
