ESI boosts output, seeks greater domestic scrap utilisation
Emirates Steel (ESI) saw finished product output inch up 100,000 tonnes on-year to 3.2 million tonnes in 2017, with exports accounting for 20% of sales volumes. Following the launch of a new shredder, ESI plans to utilise more scrap in United Arab Emirates for steelmaking.
