Esfahan Steel sells first rail following mill commissioning
Esfahan Steel (Esco) has signed the first rail supply contract since the commissioning of its new 400,000 tonnes/year rail mill. The firm will deliver 40,000t of U33 rail to the country’s rail operator, Iran Railways. This marks the first time Iran has sourced rail domestically.
Iran Railways could also soon conclude a further contract to procure from Esco 100,000t of UIC60 rail, which is used in high-speed lines, Kallanish learns from the rail operator.
