Emirates Steel lowers rebar quote sharply as anticipated
United Arab Emirates integrated mill Emirates Steel (ESI) has reduced its June-delivery 10-32mm diameter domestic rebar (BS4449:2005 grade GR500B) quotes by AED 420/tonne ($115) to AED 2,755/t ($750) ex-works. This is down from AED 3,175/t for May deliveries.
ESI quotes 8mm diameter rebar at the same price as long as the share of 8mm product does not exceed 5% of the total tonnage ordered, Kallanish notes.
