Emirates Steel hikes rebar $40 on global increases
Abu Dhabi-based Emirates Steel (ESI) has increased its rebar price by AED 146/tonne ($40/t) from the previous month to AED 1,671/t ($455/t) ex-works for May deliveries. The steep hike follows continued upward movement over the last month of scrap and billet prices, which have consequently pushed up Turkish-origin rebar, ESI’s main competition.
