Emirates Steel hikes rebar $34 after prices surge
Abu Dhabi-based Emirates Steel (ESI) has increased its rebar price by AED 125/tonne ($34) from the previous month to AED 1,525/t ($415) ex-works for April deliveries. The steep hike has been driven by last week’s surge in Chinese iron ore and steel prices, which also pushed up scrap and consequently Turkish-origin rebar, ESI’s main competition.
