Emirates Steel agrees green hydrogen for steelmaking partnership
Abu Dhabi-based Emirates Steel (ESI) and Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop a green hydrogen project to be used in steelmaking to reduce carbon emissions.
Jasim Husain Thabet, TAQA chief executive and managing director, and Saeed Al Remeithi, Emirates Steel ceo, inked the agreement that aims to pioneer green steel production in the Middle East and North Africa.
