ArcelorMittal Eisenhüttenstadt restarts blast furnace
ArcelorMittal Eisenhüttenstadt has restarted its blast furnace No. 5A following 72 days of reline work, Kallanish learns from the group.
ArcelorMittal has invested €40 million ($42m) in the revamp, and highlights the measure as a sign for its confidence in the future of the eastern German plant, located on the border with Poland. The furnace has now returned to producing up to 5,000 tonnes/day of pig iron. The complex employs 2,700 people in total.
