Egyptian 2016 rebar consumption, billet imports seen rising
Egyptian rebar consumption is forecast to increase 8% on-year in 2016 to 8.1 million tonnes, according to Ezz Steel marketing director George Matta. This is thanks to various large investment projects, including Egypt’s new administrative capital. In 2015 consumption returned to the peak level achieved in 2009 of 7.5mt.
