Egypt drives Turkey’s May steel exports rise
Turkish steel exports increased 11.5% year-on-year to 1.3 million tonnes in May, thanks to an 86% surge in shipments to Egypt, the Turkish Steel Exporters’ Association (CIB) says.
This largely compensated for the decline in exports in the previous months of the year and meant the country's January-May steel exports inched down by -0.7% on-year to 6.8mt, Kallanish notes from a CIB statement.
