EC says Belgium must claw back Duferco cash
The European Commission (EC) had a busy day with steel yesterday, 20 January, Kallanish observes. As well as formally announcing its investigation into alleged Italian state aid for Ilva (see related article) it also decided that Belgium needed to reclaim some cash back from Duferco.
In a press release the EC said that it has concluded that €211 million ($231m) funding “… granted by the Walloon authorities in Belgium to several steel companies …
