DP World, SMS improve Jebel Ali container efficiency
Dubai-based port operator DP World and SMS group have established a joint venture to operate the world’s first high bay container storing system at Jebel Ali Port, the German technology supplier tells Kallanish.
The system was originally developed by SMS subsidiary Amova for round-the-clock handling of metal coils that weigh as much as 50 tonnes each in racks as high as 50m.
