Dongkuk Steel to run EAF only at night
South Korea’s No.2 rebar manufacturer Dongkuk Steel has started to run the two electric arc furnaces at its Incheon Plant only at night from Monday to reduce costs, Kallanish notes.
In response to low rebar demand, Dongkuk Steel changed its from four-team, three-shift work system to working only from 10pm to 8am the next day, according to reports in local Korean media Enews Today.
