Dongkuk profits recover in Q2
South Korea’s Dongkuk Steel Mill has seen profit recover in the second quarter, boosting its mediocre earnings from the start of the year. The company hopes its restructuring and new Brazilian slab venture can help it control costs, Kallanish notes.
The company saw first-half-of-2016 net profit grow 198.9% year-on-year to KRW 39 billion ($33.7 million), despite a -59.6% drop in Q1 net profit to KRW 36.4 billion.
