Dongkuk operating profits improve in first quarter
South Korea’s Dongkuk Steel Mill saw its net profit in the first quarter of 2017 fall year-on-year but operating profits improved, according to its latest release. The company also moved further away from its previous dependence on plate, and received the first shipment of slab from its new Brazilian venture during the quarter, Kallanish notes.
