Domestic market, bar/rod in coil carry Qasco sales
The domestic market carried Qatar Steel’s sales in 2019, with exports dropping to almost nil. However, the producer foresees demand at home also faltering.
Qatar Steel’s sales inched up 0.6% on-year in 2019 to 2.96 million tonnes. This was driven by a 31% surge in sales in its domestic market to 2.37mt, as exports to outside the GCC slumped to 1,000t versus 430,000t in 2018.
