Dillinger to supply North Sea wind park
DONG Energy has again awarded a contract to Steelwind Nordenham for the supply of monopoles and transition pieces for wind power plants, Kallanish hears from Steelwind Nordenham’s parent, Dillinger Hütte, which will make the plate for the parts.
The wind park Borkum Riffgrund 2 will consist of 56 towers in the 8 MW class, to produce power for some 460,000 households as of 2019. It will be located 5 km off the coast of Lower Saxony. Steelwind is already producing the monopoles for a UK project by DONG. For the Borkum Riffgrund 2 order, DONG will also produce the transition pieces, which connect the monopiles with the tower.
