Danieli completes Rajhi Steel billet caster revamp
Danieli has completed the revamp of Rajhi Steel’s continuous billet caster in Jeddah. The work, which took place during a four-week shutdown over summer, entailed replacing the existing carbon steel cooling chamber with a new unit fabricated from stainless steel.
The caster produces up to 850,000 tonnes/year of 100-160mm square billet in lengths of 3.5-13m. This feeds production of rebar at Jeddah, as well as Rajhi’s second production site at Al Khar…
