Pandemic reduces Argentina's 2020 output despite second-half recovery
The Argentinian steel industry closed 2020 with slower performance on-year mainly due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In the last six months, the sector saw an increase in production but could not offset the impact of production stoppages following lockdowns in the first half-year.
Production increased on-year in December and was almost flat over November, according to local steel association Cámara Argentina de Acero (CAA) data monitored by Kallanish.
