Egypt's 'new capital' could provide large impetus to steel demand
Egypt’s government plans to build a new capital city to the east of Cairo at cost of $45 billion. The announcement was made at last week’s Egypt Economic Development Conference. The project, were it to take place, would run over 5-7 years and provide a massive boost to Egyptian steel consumption, Kallanish notes.
