Sail procures larger-volume converters from SMS
Steel Authority of India (Sail) has contracted SMS to supply three new 110-tonne converters for its steelmaking plant No.2 that will increase volume by 10%, the German technology supplier says. The units will replace the existing 25-year old SMS-supplied converters.
SMS group will also supply secondary dust collecting systems for the three converters that will exceed environmental requirements. Commissioning of the complete plant is scheduled for September 2020.…
