Container shortage aggravates Taiwan's scrap procurement difficulties
Taiwan's scrap prices have embarked on a frantic upward trend towards year-end. Driven by strong international scrap prices, the trend is expected to continue.
The number of US-origin scrap offers, typically favoured by Taiwanese steel mills, has gradually declined in recent weeks. The shortage of container supply has continued on the US West Coast this week, and offers for HMS 1&2 80:20 container scrap have therefore continued to climb.
