Commerce slated to make security decision in June
The US Department of Commerce expects to make a determination on the national security interest in erecting new tariffs on steel products by the end of June, Kallanish understands.
Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross indicated last week during the section 232 investigation’s initial hearings that he plans to release his findings before the end of June. This is well before the 270-day deadline required by law.
