Cleveland-Cliffs sees increasing auto demand
US flatrolled steelmaker Cleveland-Cliffs says it is seeing improving deliveries to automotive customers and expects to see strong sales to the auto sector as the microchip shortage eases this year.
About half of the company’s steel sales end up in the automotive market, Kallanish understands, with typical annual sales of 5 million short tons sold directly to automakers and another 2-3m st sold through intermediaries.
