Cleveland-Cliffs plans to idle iron ore, coke operations
Cleveland-Cliffs plans to idle its Northshore iron ore mine in Minnesota in the second quarter. President and ceo Lourenco Goncalves made the announcement on the company’s earnings conference call last week.
The Northshore facility, which produced 3.8 million long tons of standard and DR-grade iron ore pellets in 2020, will remain idle for most of the year, if not longer.
